A Box of Quiet

The Princess has quiet time every day while Sweetpea naps. The songs, conversations and general merriment coming from the bedroom are evidence that it's time well spent.

I do provide her with a small box of "inspiration"...  A little time on Sunday night makes for a week of creativity for her and a much needed break for me!

Pup Tent

As I said, the rainy days continue...so we look for ways to have indoor fun.

Many, many years ago I found a two person tent, practically new, at a garage sale. I snatched it up with visions of camping trips. Then I found out that Steve isn't so into camping trips if they don't involve 5-star hotels...  We've used it once and since then I have been reminded every so often that the tent was way too small for two people and that we are never going to go camping again.

Well, I thought that tiny tent would be a fun change of pace for the girls so I pulled it out one afternoon.

I put together that tiny tent and the girls loved it. Oh, and it wasn't as tiny as I'd remembered. The entire living room was filled and we were climbing over furniture to get to and fro. Of course, maybe it was the room not the tent, it's pretty tiny too.

(Rare) Sunny Days

We live in the Pacific Northwest so, even though it's spring moving into summer, the warm weather days are still a rarity. So, when the sun came out we slathered on the sunscreen and headed out.

The next day we put on our sweaters again.

14 years

Steve and I ran away from the children this weekend and hid at the coast for our 14th Anniversary. (Luckily my parents showed up to take care of them so they didn't have to fend for themselves. Thank you Mom and Dad!)

There was surprise sun, zero bird attacks, and dinner that didn't involve bibs, highchairs or the hour of 5pm. And, when we got home, The Princess told me that Mamo and Papa had been here for at least six or seven days and that we should definitely do it again. So, it was a success all around!
